Commercial Construction Assistant Project Manager Canvas Construction Group – Richardson, TX Job Summary: Canvas Construction Group is a full-service renovation and construction company. We are seeking knowledgeable, dependable Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers with experience in commercial finish out construction. Projects will be in the DFW areas. Responsibilities:
  • Main contact for clients/prospects
  • Presentations (initial and each presentation)
  • Walk-throughs
  • Updating of clients
  • Estimates projects
  • Evaluates existing site conditions
  • Initiate RFI’s and coordinate with clients, architects and engineers
  • Prepare contracts
  • Prepare and track changes and additions
  • Prepares and coordinates preparation of plans, drawings and construction documents
  • Sources, qualifies and contracts with subcontractors
  • Studies job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods
  • Schedules the project in logical steps and budgets time required to meet deadlines
  • Sources and obtains supplies and materials needed to complete project
  • Communicates schedule to superintendents and clients
  • Initiates invoicing process
  • Processes subcontractor & vendor draws / payments

    • This candidate must be able to handle multiple projects from inception to completion displaying control over costs and profitability.
    • Job reviews will be conducted weekly making sure the bid is compliant with the expected estimate provided.
    • Experience in Building excavation & site work (includes curb in gutter, building excavations, permeable pavers/pavement, basements, Mass Excavation, etc.) is expected.
    Daily Duties include:
    • Assist in reviewing qualified bids.
    • Download and review plans, specifications and environmental reports.
    • Prepare estimates and proposals, and negotiate contracts.
    • Perform quality takeoffs with costing in mind.
    • Solicit pricing from subcontractors and material suppliers.
    • Interact with GC’s/Owners during the bidding process.
    • Attend meetings, field coordination, etc.
    • Prepare and submit change order requests
    Preferred Job Qualifications:

    currently seeking an Environmental Engineer or Geologist our Parsippany, NJ office. The position will require a variety of environmental sampling and reporting functions in support of site investigation, remediation, and regulatory compliance assignments supporting various clients in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The work will range from directing drill rigs for green infrastructure investigations in New York City, general field support during multi-media sampling (i.e. soil and groundwater) and preparation of reports for sites undergoing investigation. Position requires strong skills and knowledge of MS Excel and Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation and/or ArcGIS products a plus.
    Required Skills & Required Experience:
    • BS or higher degree in Engineering, Geology or Environmental Sciences.
    • 5-7 years of experience.
    • Current OSHA 40-hour certification.
    • Ability to travel to various sites in New York City and the Boroughs of NYC.
